Sedona once again garners national attention in US News and World Reports as #2 in their list of the 10 Best Weekend Getaways spots in the United States, just behind Las Vegas, Nevada. But who wouldn’t want to spend a weekend in one the most spectacular places in the the West?

Here are a few of my recommendations when you come. If it is in your budget stay at the Enchantment Resort, a spectacular resort with the world class Mii Amo Spa, in a one of a kind location just 15 minutes from town. You can only visit the spa if you are staying at the resort.

If you are being a little more thrifty minded the Matterhorn Inn in Uptown Sedona is a great choice. Great views, in the heart of the restaurant and shopping district, close to everything that is Sedona.

For food Dahl and Di Luca, the Hideway, Javalina Cantina, Café Jose, Picazzo’s and the Wildflower Bread Company would be my first choices. See my restaurant page for a little more in depth info.

For things to do: take a hike on one of the many trails, visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross, travel to Jerome and Tuzigoot, they are 30 minutes away just outside of Cottonwood, visit Palatki and Honanki Indian ruins, take a jeep tour, golf in the village of Oak Creek. You get the point, you will need more than one weekend!
